Ready for Launch |
The miracle of first flight has never been easier than with our Our revolutionary towing system has proven itself to be the safest and most reliable method of providing tandem (and solo) flight to our students. It enables the instructor and student to get as high as 3000' over launch, (conditions permitting), enjoying breathtaking views with ample opportunity for the student to get 'hands on' experience at the controls of the glider to fully experience flight. Launching from our tow system means when you reach altitude and release from the tow line, you are 3000' over everything, which is even higher than most of the mountain sites in either Oregon or Washington. The 'open cockpit' view from that high is simply astounding, it has to be experienced to be believed. Start off with a brief ground school session that introduces you to the fundamentals of paraglider control, launching, and landing. Next, spend a few minutes in our flight simulator to adjust your harness and get a feel for the glider's controls. Then when you're ready, we'll get you "connected" and you'll be off on your first flight! One of our USHGA certified tandem instructors will be in control for the first moments of your flight, but shortly after take-off you will have the opportunity to take the controls. Your instructor will guide you with proper control inputs and soon you will be flying the glider yourself. As you reach the top of your climb out, your instructor will release the glider from the tow line, allowing you to enjoy free flight over the beach and ocean below. As you near the end of your flight, your instructor will again take the controls for the final approach and landing. Afterwards, you will never look at the sky the same way again! Hundreds of aspiring pilots, age 4 to 81, have already enjoyed our Introductory Tandem Experience program. Enjoy stunning 360 degree views from the Pacific Ocean to the Cascade Range, all followed by gentle landings on the soft sand below. Friends and family are welcome to come and enjoy a day at the beach, (even right at launch), while you enjoy the view from above. |
